Graphics consultant

Lynne Perri specializes in visual journalism. She will be teaching graduate students in the fall class that produces the American Observer and also will teach the Fundamentals of News Design. In 2008, her Visual Strategies class developed graphics that were featured in a polling project with USA TODAY and she co-taught a class that combined journalism and film to cover the New Hampshire primary. She teaches a distance-education course in writing and researching graphics as well. She is a freelance designer and leads visual workshops; recent clients include the washingtonpost.com and the Kaiser Media Fellows. Perri is a former deputy managing editor for Graphics and Photography at USA TODAY, where she conceptualized illustrations, graphics, maps and photo packages and wrote articles and reviews.
